Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. She is most famous for portraying the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, a speech and family therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent.
